Patient-specific models, instruments and implants are now within reach. The design of such custom-made models, instruments and implants starts from our patient’s medical imaging data - this could be a Computer Tomography (CT) or Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT). In close collaboration with our surgeons, the design is tuned to specific characteristics needed for the job at hand. This data is processed and a 3D digital model of your bones is generated, using a special software program. Thereafter, the purpose of this simulation depends on your treatment path. These 3D digital images are then “printed” and are predominantly used in 3 ways:
